The Fusion of Ink Painting with Mixed Media and Multidisciplinary Thinking: A New Artistic Vision

In recent years, GSA Gallery has actively explored the dynamic interaction between the art market and academic development in the fields of ink painting, oil painting, and mixed media. In 2019, a chance meeting at the Evergreen Laurel Hotel café with President Chao-Hu Huang and Professor Lien-Tung Chuang, Chair of the Department of Fine Arts at National Taiwan Normal University, set the stage for deeper collaboration. I have known President Huang of the International Tsai-Mo Ink Painting Alliance for many years and have witnessed his tireless efforts in promoting the positioning and development of contemporary ink art. Professor Chuang, for several consecutive years, curated GSA’s group exhibitions featuring four different generations of ink artists, paired with academic discourse. Both sides share a deep emotional connection to the medium.
In February 2020, GSA launched the Taiwan TSAI-MO Art Pockey Biennale, appointing Professor Chuang as GSA’s chief curator, with President Huang serving as overall curator. The event was co-curated by former Dean Chen-Ming Lee and Professor Chuang, and together they invited 97 artists to participate in a vibrant and diverse series of exhibitions. The biennale toured six venues across Taiwan and abroad, showcasing a contemporary and multifaceted vision of Taiwanese ink art.

彩墨融合多元媒材與思維開創新風貌

國璽藝術這些年積極探討水墨、油畫、複合媒材等藝術市場與學術發展間相互影響，因緣際會與會長黃朝湖及國立臺灣師範大學系主任莊連東於2019年長榮飯店咖啡廳相約會談，我與國際彩墨聯盟會長黃朝湖認識多年，了解其長期推廣彩墨「定位」與「發展」不遺餘力，莊主任連續幾年為國璽藝術策展四個不同世代的水墨聯展與學術論述，雙方於彩墨藝術都有特殊情感，國璽藝術特別在2020年2月規劃「臺灣彩墨袖珍雙年展」，除了請莊連東主任擔任國璽藝術策展人外，並經由聯盟協會黃朝湖會長總策展與李振明前院長、莊連東主任協同策展，共同邀請97位藝術家參與盛會，展開國內外六處巡迴展覽，來展現多元台灣的彩墨藝術新風貌。
